Assignment Details

Over the last decade, Medanta Medicity has created an unrivalled impact in delivering world class multi-speciality care to patients.
As an organization with high social consciousness, Medanta hospital now wishes to seed into the organization a formal program for welfare of the needy . In the initial phase the independent philanthropic foundation will focus on providing free/concessionary healthcare treatment to needy and require resources for our pilot phase (~6 weeks duration starting mid-end November)
We require a social assessor on a part-time basis to interview the beneficiary and quickly make an assessment of his/her economic need to help us determine the quantum of benefit to be provided and minimize fraudulent cases. Candidates will be considered for full time role based on mutual considerations for the final rollout.
The primary responsibility during the pilot phase will include:
1. Screen all applicants applying to Foundation to determine economic need. The assessor is expected to triangulate multiple identity/income documents (e.g., BPL card, IT returns) or no verifiable income documents (e.g., auto driver) and apply judgement based on in-person interview (e.g., dialect, clothes)
2. Interface with senior doctors to gather their inputs on economic and clinical need of concerned applicants
3. Refer suspect fraudulent applicant case to reporting manager for further investigation (e.g., through external verification agency)
4. Prioritize and provide recommendation on applicants based on judgement from interviews and results from proprietary Medanta Foundation applicant need assessment tool
5. Profile applicant pool during pilot phase and provide insights on applicant demographics and feedback on beneficiary assessment and verification process (e.g., which documents are more credible)
6. Collect data and populate reports/dashboards during pilot phase
7. Provide recommendation on beneficiary assessment and verification process and data collection/report generation process for final rollout

Skills Required

Preferred skill level: MSc. in Social work.
Prior experience at grassroot level for Foundation or micro-finance for similar work in preferred but not necessary. Loan officer with a micro-finance or credit risk assessment of poor patients will also be a good fit.

Adhering to NABH standards, the hospital is as of 2013 accredited by ISQua (International Society for Quality in Healthcare), NABL, and JCI.
