Discovering hands is an award-winning enterprise in the area of healthcare and disabilities. It trains visually impaired women to be examiners of the breasts, leveraging the uniques sensory skills of blind people. This aims to use a perceived disadvantage as a competitive skill, and all first pilots show that the blind women are better than the doctor in detecting early abnormalities in the breast.
This model exists in Germany and is right now being replicated in Austria and Colombia.
We would like to bring Discovering hands to India: India’s healthcare sector is booming with unique opportunities for all types of deliver methods. To assess the feasibility and initiate the replication in India, discovering hands is looking for a passionate individual in India to support our efforts as a project manager.
What we are looking for: We are looking for somebody to join and lead our India work with an exceptional skill set as a problem solver and entrepreneur. As a first step we would like this individual to do a landscaping study, identify potential partners and then create a business plan for DH India. Within the first six month of employment we also aim to start a first train-the-trainer program with Indian trainers in Germany to start building the training capacity.
After these initial steps it is potentially possible for this individual to lead DH India (independently or as part of a partner organization) and as such a unique opportunity to build out a proven model in the big Indian market.
Skills Required
? 5-7 years work experience
? Master degree
? Experience in the health sector (e.g. consulting firm, pharmaceutical company, investment banking etc)
? Track record in initiating and building businesses or other programs
? Fully comfortable with ambiguity and working with a remote team
? Ability to travel internationally (initially Germany)
? Excellent communications skills, in writing and in person
? Passion for either health care and/or the disability sector
? Highly collaborative approach and good team skills
